Rewriting Students' Stories: Challenging Myths of Integrating English The academic experience of students testing two levels below college often looks like a “Choose Your Own Adventure” book, where the protagonist creates an academically fatal ending based on too many options and often uninformed choices. Developmental English and Reading faculty have worked together to re-write this story through the creation of an integrated English, Reading, and affective learning course, enabling more students to complete developmental courses, college-level English and other transfer-level courses. |
